Oh... My... Gosh... is the first thing that came to mind when I saw these stinkin adorable rag rugs on Carroll's Farm & Crafts Facebook page. I just knew I needed to get one for my daughter. Yes, it was a Christmas present and I just couldn't wait until Christmas to give it to her! She LOVES it! Every morning when she gets out of bed she lays on it and "cuddles" with her friend.
Pamela Carroll has been making these adorable rugs for nearly 3 years. She has always loved handcrafted items and fell in love with the rag rugs her friend had made. Her inspiration comes from nature and others creativity. Sometimes, the designs are just plain accident!
Rag rugs can take Pamela upwards of 12+ whopping hours to make! It takes a few hours just to prep the material (wash, dry, and rip into strips). Then, many more hours of transforming the strips into a work of art.
One of my concerns was making sure I keep this adorable rug in good condition so my daughter can enjoy it for years to come. Because they are made with upcycled sheets, they are not only durable but machine washable, too! The rugs can be placed in the dryer until damp and/or lay flat to dry (it may be necessary to reshape).
