Homeschooling my kids can tend to get a little monotonous. We get stuck in our routine and before you know it we haven't let the house in 3 days! Those are the moments when I LOVE going on spontaneous trips. Pack a lunch and a snack (or 3...) and get out on the road.
For this trip, we chose to head to the Flint RiverQuarium and it was a great choice! First of all, the drive up to Albany was beautiful. The sun was shining and the cotton fields were full. When we got there we were welcomed by this waterfall staircase that even my littles appreciated. Don't get me started on the super cute turtle statue that they could not get enough of!
Once we finally got inside they immediately ran to the aquarium they have set up next to the front desk. This kept the kids busy so I could pay the admission, very thoughtful placement!
The information panels throughout the RiverQuarium are a great touch. We definitely got our Science in for the day!
There is this special area that has something for every kid. Electronic games, a table that shows how rivers are formed, a full wall sized Waterworks game, even a play area where the kids can climb up in a tunnel and look through fish tanks!
Once you're done in the Flint RiverQuarium, head outside and to the left. There is a beautiful park that is perfect for a picnic along the river.
There is so much more to this place, but I will not share all of their secrets, you will need to see it for yourself!
